Sarah Ali-Choudhury Finalist in the International Indian Chef Awards 2017

We are very proud to inform you that our daughter Sarah Ali-Choudhury, is a finalist in the International Indian Chef Awards 2017 taking place at Billingsgate Seafood School in London on Monday 2nd October.  She will be joining 7 other finalists selected from some 8000 entrants in a process that included heats in India and Bangladesh.  The award ceremony is taking place at the ILEC Conference Centre, London on Monday October 9th in the presence of guest of Honour HRH The Princess Royal.  Sarah is going to be cooking:  coconut fish curry, with aubergine, red pepper and potato bhaji, and 2...

Cooking demonstration at Melplash Show 2017

Helen Choudhury is very pleased to be giving a cookery demonstration again at this year’s Melplash Show taking place on Thursday 24 August at West Bay in Bridport. Aubergine, Capiscum and Potato Curry

Ingredients 4 tbsp oil 2 tsp panch phoran 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped 1 inch ginger, peeled and grated 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1 tsp salt, or to taste 1 tbsp coriander powder 1 tsp chilli powder 1 tsp turmeric 1 tbsp tomato puree 2 potatoes, peeled and cut into ¾ inch cubes 1 aubergine, cut into ¾ inch cubes 2 peppers (green and/or red) cut into 1 inch pieces 2 cups (500ml) water 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander Method Heat oil in a saucepan over a medium heat.  When hot, add the panch phoran and cook until it sizzles.  Add the onion, ginger and salt stirring occasionally.  When...
