We are very excited and very proud to inform you that the Taj Mahal was a joint winner of the Tommy Miah’s Legend Award. The award was presented to Rafique and Helen Choudhury at the International Indian Chef of the Year Award dinner that took place in the ILEC Conference Centre in Fulham, London, in the presence of guest of Honour HRH The Princess Royal.
Rafique and Helen were recognised for their services to the Indian and Bangladeshi catering industry in the UK. They are considered pioneers and are seen as an inspiration to many newcomers to the Indian restaurant trade.
The Durbar Restaurant in London W2 4AA was the other joint winner. They are also a family run business and first opened their doors in 1956!
